I'm slowly writing up posts about what I learnt from P.I.T. STOP back in September but there are a couple of extra things that don't really have a place so I thought I would quickly share a few tips about LipSense which I felt were important to remember. Especially when it comes to the tingling sensation. LipSense Lip Colour creates a permeable membrane which allows the gloss to penetrate and be absorbed by the lips. The tingling sensation that some people feel on initial application is due to microscopic cuts in the lips surface. These are formed as the lips are extremely dehydrated which could either be from not drinking enough water, using wax based lip products previously or even a mixture of the two. LipSense is delivered via a denatured alcohol system. This system is amazing because it is an antibacterial and kills 99% of bacteria in the tube but  this is the reason it may hurt a little bit. I briefly mentioned in a previous blog post, about why it's important to wear your LipSense in 3 layers , that you can use the application process to your advantage. When you apply in 3 layers it means that you combine your lip colours to create a personalised colour to suit your own style. I've previously touched upon how to remove Lipsense using Ooops! Remover but I haven't explained why it works! Our  Ooops! Remover is especially designed to erase those “Ooops!” mistakes that can occur when applying LipSense Liquid Lip Color, but it will also help remove and lift LipSense. This is perfect for when you want to change your shade with your outfit or to take it off at the end of the day. It will completely remove all the color from your lips. So how does it work? It is specially formulated to gently remove the patented long-lasting color technology of LipSense. Like I said, it can be used, as both a remover after the color technology has been on the skin for a number of hours and as an instant mistake corrector. Following on from yesterday's post on moisture content, our matte gloss has the least. As such, the matte gloss has a specific technique of application to create a matte look that still lasts all day.  Apply a thin layer of glossy gloss first  Allow to dry or lightly blot the gloss  Apply matte gloss as normal  The original layer of glossy gloss will penetrate through the lip cells and moisture from the bottom layers up, keeping lips soft and plump.

Different people prefer different finishes for their lip look. One of the most common preferences is matte vs glossy finishes. On top of that, with the vast range of different glosses, you can create many looks using the same LipSense Lip Colour but a different gloss. Bougainville and opal glosses tend to change the colour the most while the glitter glosses add the perfect hint of glitter with an added colour thrown in. What do you think? With LipSense being our biggest seller, with it comes lots of questions! Today, I thought I would share the most frequently asked questions and the answers. Please note, this is not my list of questions and answers but from a document provided. Process What are the three stages to LipSense? Long-lasting Lip Colour stays on from 4 to 12 hours. Lip Gloss actually repairs and moisturises lips. Ooops! Remover is for corrections and removal after at least 6hrs. If you try to remove LipSense within the first hour it is very difficult and could cause chapped lips. When trying a new LipSense® colour, plan on wearing it for at least three-four hours even if you don't like the colour. Why should I purchase the whole set? As a person eats and drinks, the gloss comes off and needs to be reapplied a few times during the day to keep the colour renewed and increase its staying power. Today I am sharing the secrets of the LipSense Layering system. Okay not really secrets but it is interesting to learn a little bit about why it's important to apply the 3 layers. The colour breaks down with the pH balance of the skin. The first layer touches the skin’s pH and will begin to break down first and fastest. The 2nd layer is protected from the bottom, away from the skin’s pH, by the first layer while the 3rd layer protects the second layer from the top down and prevents sheering of second layer of colour by keeping away friction, saliva and the natural environment. The third layer breaks down just like the first layer, but from the top down. The second layer is sandwiched between the first and third and is protected by both for the longest period of use.
