As LipSense Lip Colours last so long (even worn at the maximum staying power they last 4 to 6 months!), sometimes the LipSense applicator can start to be worn away leaving application streaky and inconsistent.  This can be really annoying but it's a very simple fix. The distributor you bought the product from should happily provide you with a disposable applicator wand, free of charge. All you do then is remove the tip from both the LipSense wand and the disposable applicator wand. Once both are removed, place the disposable applicator tip onto the LipSense wand and make sure it is firmly secure.  Done! It's that simple! The LipSense wand tip takes a lot more effort to remove so I would recommend using pliers or, if like me and you don't have any, use scissors and wiggle it free. Obviously, it's good that it's in so tightly so that it doesn't fall out! My number one tip would be to make sure you wipe all the excess product from the wand, back int...

I'm slowly writing up posts about what I learnt from P.I.T. STOP back in September but there are a couple of extra things that don't really have a place so I thought I would quickly share a few tips about LipSense which I felt were important to remember. Especially when it comes to the tingling sensation. LipSense Lip Colour creates a permeable membrane which allows the gloss to penetrate and be absorbed by the lips. The tingling sensation that some people feel on initial application is due to microscopic cuts in the lips surface. These are formed as the lips are extremely dehydrated which could either be from not drinking enough water, using wax based lip products previously or even a mixture of the two. LipSense is delivered via a denatured alcohol system. This system is amazing because it is an antibacterial and kills 99% of bacteria in the tube but  this is the reason it may hurt a little bit. I briefly mentioned in a previous blog post, about why it's important to wear your LipSense in 3 layers , that you can use the application process to your advantage. When you apply in 3 layers it means that you combine your lip colours to create a personalised colour to suit your own style. We have 36 incredible colours in our full time range, with many limited edition colours as well. With LipSense being our biggest seller, with it comes lots of questions! Today, I thought I would share the most frequently asked questions and the answers. Please note, this is not my list of questions and answers but from a document provided. Process What are the three stages to LipSense? Long-lasting Lip Colour stays on from 4 to 12 hours. Lip Gloss actually repairs and moisturises lips. Ooops! Remover is for corrections and removal after at least 6hrs. If you try to remove LipSense within the first hour it is very difficult and could cause chapped lips. When trying a new LipSense® colour, plan on wearing it for at least three-four hours even if you don't like the colour. Why should I purchase the whole set? As a person eats and drinks, the gloss comes off and needs to be reapplied a few times during the day to keep the colour renewed and increase its staying power. While I shared the science behind LipSense a few weeks ago, I realised I never shared the exact ingredients here. But importantly, it doesn't contain any lead, wax or animal by-products. Today I am sharing the secrets of the LipSense Layering system. Okay not really secrets but it is interesting to learn a little bit about why it's important to apply the 3 layers. The colour breaks down with the pH balance of the skin. The first layer touches the skin’s pH and will begin to break down first and fastest. The 2nd layer is protected from the bottom, away from the skin’s pH, by the first layer while the 3rd layer protects the second layer from the top down and prevents sheering of second layer of colour by keeping away friction, saliva and the natural environment. The third layer breaks down just like the first layer, but from the top down. The second layer is sandwiched between the first and third and is protected by both for the longest period of use. The second layer is the colour that lasts! It may seem like a burden but it's not! It works plus it means that you combine multiple colours to create an individualised colour. Welcome back to my blog. I think it's about time, I switched up how I open these blog posts but trust me when I say, it's a real struggle. While I shared how to apply LipSense a couple posts back, I still haven't shared how to remove it. I have gone LIVE a few times on Instagram to show you but I thought I better write it down. It's really simple actually but it's why we have to legally see a starter kit to first time customers. The lip colour comes with: the Lip Gloss to moisturise and prolong wear; the Ooops! Remover helps correct mistakes but also remove your LipSense at the end of the day. Put a thin layer of Ooops! Remover over your lips  Let soak for 30 seconds  Create a little bit of friction by rubbing your lips together or massaging them with your finger. This helps break down the molecules of pigment in the colour.  Using a soft, wet wash cloth, wipe off the colour. It should come off really easily! If it doesn't (for example, darker colo...

Today I am sharing my top tips for perfect LipSense application. It's definitely a little bit of a learning curve but once you follow these steps, you will always have perfect lips! Ooops Remover: Prime your lips with the Ooops Remover to ensure all prior product is removed Wash lips: Wash off the Ooops Remover so no oil is on your lips.  Dry Lips: Make sure to carefully dry your entire lip, including the waterline.  Shake: Shake the tube of LipSense well for at least 30 seconds to ensure all the pigment particles are evenly distributed.  Part lips: Don't let your lips touch once you start applying. Thin layers: It is a very pigmented product so only a thin layer is needed.  Wipe of excess: Wipe the brush on the side of the tube so only the product soaked into the brush is applied. One direction: Ensure you apply in one direction so there are no streaks. Wait between the 3 layers: Allow up to 30 seconds between each layer so the colours doesn't get remov...

I think this post is well overdue but I am sharing a written format of how to apply LipSense. LipSense is an incredible product but it isn't like other lipsticks so it's important to follow these steps to guarantee perfect, long-lasting lipstick every time! Shake the lip colour well, for at least 30 seconds to evenly spread the pigment throughout.  Apply to clean, dry lips. Make sure to dry the waterline.  For a more defined look, line lips with LinerSense (available separately) first. I personally don't think it's needed as the lip colour doesn't bleed.  With lips parted, place LipSense applicator on lip beginning at the outside corner and spread in a fluid, sweeping motion to the opposite corner of the lip without lifting the applicator. Do not move applicator back and forth. Use three layers for long-lasting results. Let each layer dry about thirty seconds before applying the next layer. Today I am going to share the science behind the product! As a scientist, I am always intrigued by how these things work so if you're not, this probably isn't for you! This unique product does not dry out your lips. In fact, it restores the moisture content of your lips when used properly. The formulations and colour pigments in LipSense help create a physical covering for the lips, and so the colour pigments help to protect the lips from the sun’s rays.  That is just one of the reasons your lips become so smooth and soft with consistent use of the lipstick. Today I am sharing a post that is well overdue. This is a from back when I first tried out LipSense. It is an honest first impression and review! I first came across LipSense on YouTube and once on person started using it, it seemed like everyone did! They were all raving about it and I was desperate to try it but it wasn't until recently, it became available in the UK. I just knew I would love this product so I snapped up 5 colours when I placed my first order. All worn with glossy gloss. The colours I chose were: Apple Cider, Aussie Rose, Napa, Fuscia and Fly Girl (not pictured). When I very first applied the lip colour, I noticed a brief stinging sensation but in reality this lasted less than 10 seconds and was totally manageable.
